About 5House Training and Get-A-Grip Tutoring

Get-A-Grip Tutoring, the pre-career training division of 5House Training, was established in 1991.  Our director, a true advocate of life-long learning, became concerned with the increasing needs of students who were drastically unprepared for the realities of academic competition both in-school and beyond.  Get-A-Grip Tutoring was developed based on a strategy of one-on-one tutoring in the student’s home or community to address their academic needs.

We work with counselors, youth advocates, and other educators to provide for the academic, social, physical, mental, and emotional needs of students.

The 5House Training organization primarily addresses academic enrichment and life skills success strategies.  We provide training on study skills, organizational skills, career development skills, writing and mathematics. 

In 2005, the 5House Training and Leadership Development Academy opened.  The academy delivers motivational seminars, and a leadership development for young people in grades two (2) through twelve (12).  Our motivational seminars are also appropriate for college students and entry-level professionals.
